Anna Ahnlund
Anna Ahnlund creates, arranges and produces music with a curiosity that takes the listener to a world of authenticity regarding sound, composition and text.
The music is multilayered and Anna's Swedish lyrics deal, in a stylistic and imaginative way, with the universal and inevitable issues of human life. The words are presented to the listener through winding melodies and surprising harmonies. A voice that defies boundaries, backed up by a genuine band in the borderland between Swedish progg music, Swedish ballad tradition and improvisation.
The sound is reminiscent of Dungen, Turid, and early Pink Floyd as well as Leonard Cohen, The Beatles, Linda Perhacs and Doris.
In 2014, Anna Ahnlund released her debut album Omnejd, which awarded her the title Lyricist of the year 2015 from SKAP. A meticulously crafted album rich in melodies and arrangements.
In 2018, Ahnlund released her second album Lackmuspapper, a collection of songs recorded and arranged during three days together with the band in Studio Rymden, Stockholm. The sound is a bit more harsh than her debut, and many of the song are ”one takes” with few ore no additional recordings.
In 2019, Anna released three EPs. I skuggan av unga pojkar i blom consists of three tracks from the same studio session as Lackmuspapper, but these have been re-arranged together with Daniel Ögren and given their own unique sound. År: comprises three poems set to music from the collection of poems Fyrahundrafyrtio år, a release by the highly praised poet Lina Ekdahl. December: Annas own versions of five Christmas songs she made for a contemporary dance and circus show at Artipelag, Stockholm.
In addition to her solo work, Anna is member of the band Dina Ögon where she is also writing music and lyrics.
