Genom Natten

Genom Natten creates grand choruses for broken hearts—like the soundtrack to a David Lynch film set in a Swedish folk park.

The band consists of Joel Sjöö and Alessandra Günthardt. As songwriters and producers for others, they have won a Grammis and Denniz Pop Awards and had global hits, including Arcade with Duncan Laurence, Revolution with Elias, and All We Got with Robin Schulz and Kiddo.

Now, forming a band together, they are doing it entirely on their own terms—for the first time—and both are debuting in Swedish.

“In the fall of 2023, we met in LA, jetlagged and tired of the commercial pop circus. We both felt that so much of our creativity was shaped by others—artists, labels, managers—and how wonderful it would be to have our own little bubble where we could make music straight from the heart, without compromise. We’ve always wanted to write timeless songs in the vein of Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game and share a love for American indie music like Beach House and Mazzy Star. When we started writing Swedish lyrics to this dreamy music, we found something we had never heard before.”
