Kasino

Kasino, also known as Johannes Runemark, is a songwriter and guitarist from Gothenburg who crafts shimmering melodies where electronic drums meet acoustic guitars, with lyrics that boldly embrace romance.

Kasino debuted as a solo artist in the spring of 2020 with the single Skriva om dig, followed by the EP Du. He has previously written and produced songs for some of Sweden’s biggest artists, including Veronica Maggio, Miriam Bryant, Melissa Horn, and Thomas Stenström. In 2023, he released Vattnet är varmt snälla kom i jag lovar, an extension of his debut EP, featuring four more love songs that he brought on his first solo tour across Sweden that same spring.

The tour began with a guest appearance alongside Veronica Maggio at Evenew in Stockholm, followed by sold-out shows at Bar Brooklyn and Oceanen in Gothenburg. The opening concert of the tour in Stockholm received a five-star review from GAFFA, which praised Kasino’s aesthetic: “A pursuit of finding the ugly in the beautiful, highlighted through his enchanting and bittersweet lyrics—reminiscent of Swedish folk songs dressed in a minimalist indie-pop suit.”
