Tomas Ledin

Today, there’s a lot of talk about staying power. In a pop world full of fleeting trends, only a few manage to reinvent themselves and remain relevant to new generations.

Tomas Ledin made his debut the same year Sweden phased out the one-öre coin—1972. More than 50 years later, he remains a musical heavyweight. It must be something about his determination. Year after year, he sells out folk parks, arenas like Globen, theaters, concert halls with full orchestras, and even the open-air stage in his childhood hometown of Lövvik. And now, he’s knocking on the door with his 25th studio album. What else could it be called but Viker inte ner mig än (Not Backing Down Yet)? Because Ledin never backs down. He and his longtime band, together since 2000, are true showmen at heart—thriving on the energy of the stage, the rhythm of the drums, and the roar of a singing crowd.

With producer Anders Glenmark, Tomas has taken a fresh step forward. The album delivers a light, airy, shimmering sound—crisp, like a Swedish summer dusk. In Det blir inte bättre, you can catch the distant scent of a country-tinged guitar. It’s true reinvention, with a nod to history. And with some of the most heartfelt lyrics he’s ever written, including Guds bästa barn, Ledin continues to prove his enduring artistry.

His unstoppable victory lap from 2022 and 2023 rolls on—new album, new singles, a new tour with shows in Sweden, Norway, and Finland, and the premiere of an entirely new musical folk play, Höga kusten.
